A walk through Barrio Logan should always begin at Chicano Park. The park is home to the largest concentration of Chicano murals in the world and it is a powerful symbol of community
strength and activism.
Local artists, inspired by the mesmerizing beauty of Chicano Park, have continued to paint colorful murals all along Logan Avenue. You can find art everywhere you look in Barrio Logan - on the side of buildings and in the alleys - it is an experience like no other in San Diego.
Walk the block and get inspired.
Art meets community safety!
In order to keep our community safe, we have built simple hand washing stations; Each one painted by an artist. You can find these installations along Logan Ave. "Manos Buenas" is an initiative started by "Cosa Buena" in Oaxaca in response to COVID-19. Their mission is to bring these simple hand washing stations to communities in Oaxaca, some of which do not have running water. They are also working on translating crucial information regarding COVID-19 to indigenous languages as the Mexican government only releases information in Spanish.
